method 12

What were your favorite discoveries or exercises on this learning journey? # 5 and 6 were my favorites in this program. I would like to produce some utube videos, they seem like a lot of fun. I also was very interested in using photos for my blogspot. Thanks
How has this program assisted or affected your lifelong learning goals? It has given me some ideas and knowledge of what is out there for me to access. I know I have a lot to learn to make these ideas useful to me, but now I know where to look for information on these topics.
If we offered another discovery program like this in the future, would you again chose to participate? Yes I would participate again. Thanks

method 11

I was blocked each time I tried to listen to a podcast. I guess our school doesn't allow these? I've heard about podcasts but never was sure what they were. I can see how this would be useful in a High School library environment.

method 10

I'm a little skeptical about Wiki's. Not sure I would use them, but I can see where they might be useful in certain circumstances. I have some concern in the accuracy of the information put on a Wiki.

method 9

I've used google chat many time, in fact about 10 minutes ago when a teacher asked about our library times today. It is very easy and "instant" which I like. I've also used Skype, my son likes to use this to communicate.

method 8

I believe there are many ways useing social networks could be beneficial for libraries. I subscribe to facebook and enjoy the ease of networking with many people. I have friend that is a librarian in Oklahoma who posts many things pertaining to libraries on her personal facebook profile. I'm not sure I would use it this way, I would more likely make a professional page just for the library. I was not aware this was possible until now. Thanks

method 7

I can see using this for tagging my own websites that I use often. Not so much for sharing them with others.

Method 6

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNTWsqdcWTI

Click on site for K-12 databases used by Texas libraries, students, teachers, students and their parents!

This site is used mainly for entertainment purposes, however I tried to put the K-12 databases video on my blog, I was only able to put in the URL. Someone would be able to click on the link above to see the video on how they might use the K-12 databases in the library.

method 5

I love this feature. I look forward to playing around with this method. I agree with the legal problems of posting pictures of patrons.

Method 4

They appealed to me because they pertain to library interests.

Method 3

I agree with the statement, "I think the more important role for libraries right now is to teach users about these types of services, in no small part so that we can help them understand the potential consequences. Because if you teach a patron to use an online documents site and she puts her resume there and something goes wrong with it, that’s a very real data loss for that person."
Overall, Iwould say that I am more excited and a little cautious/skeptical about cloud computing.

Methods 1 and 2

I'm interested in learning "12 things" to help me be more informed in today's emerging technologies to enhance the library experience. I've created by own personal blog in the past but then didn't keep up with it. My goal is to create a blog for my library and then use that to inform my patrons of library news and information.
